This is my first attempt to improve the Aichi D3A1 "Val" dive-bomber. I decided to fix some shape errors, mainly in the engine cowling and canopy. Comparing with some photos and draws, I believe is pretty good! The new cockpit was also based on photos and drawings and is obviously limited by the game itself. Is IMPERATIVE to use the Hurricane 2D cockpit (P091VIEW.CPT), extracting with P.Morais's CDFWR.EXE tool. Copy the extracted P091VIEW.CPT in the game's place, paste and rename it as P271VIEW.CPT for the JU87 slot and P161VIEW.CPT for the Midway 109E slot. I did not enclosure this files due its size - they're huge! The P.Morais CDFRW.EXE can be found in the major sites around. The D3A1 for the Ju87 slot is ideal for the Solomons Campaign, until someone create a Campaign with the flyable Val. Anyway, it's good to shoot it down! The color scheme was taken from a "Koku Fan" japanese book, and for obvious reason (for me at least) I couldn't identify the squadron and base, but seems to be somewhere on the Solomons Islands on 1942. The 109E slot version was originally created for the Moggy's Midway scenario - one of my favorites. The new scheme was also taken from the same japanese source, so... no more details, sorry! To install the new Val + cockpit, choose the version you want and drop **ALL** the .dat, .3dz and .TPC files to the game's home replacing the old files. Don't forget to use the Hurricane 2D cockpit as I said above. Thanks to Moggy for the wing view, wich came from Midway scenario. Thanks again Moggy!! I hope that you guys like it as I do! Thanks a lot! ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* cwrio@novanet.com.br - Claudio Wilches ****
